The Top 3 Bike Picks of a Tour de France Cyclist

8 June 2026

Ryan Gibbons is a professional cyclist. He is known for representing his country at the Olympics and signing for WorldTour teams, where he raced in the likes of the Giro d’Italia and the Tour de France. But most importantly, he is known as one of the nicest guys you’ll meet in the peloton.

He’s also had the opportunity to ride in some incredible cycling destinations around the world. For Ryan, a couple of UK routes stand out: “Around Yorkshire is definitely a great place to ride in the UK. Glasgow in Scotland was also surreal to ride in.”

With all his experience on two wheels, and having competed on some of the most advanced bikes the industry has to offer, Ryan shared his top three bike picks for 2026 with us.

1. For The Gravel Cyclist

The Giant Revolt Advanced 1 is a carbon gravel bike that looks as good as it rides.

The lightweight composite frame has integrated storage in the down tube with internal cable routing to keep you aero and looking clean.

While it comes from the shop on a pair of Giant P-X2 Disc alloy wheels and 700x45c Giant Crosscut Grip tubeless tyres, the advanced-grade composite fork has a massive max tyre clearance of 53mm.

It has an SRAM Apex XPLR 1×12 groupset, with a 40t crankset and an 11x44t cassette and hydraulic disc brakes, ideal for cyclists who love the simplicity of a 1x without compromising on range.

The Giant Revolt Advanced 1 is a beautiful, extremely capable bike that can hold its own on the road at your local group ride while being very competitive at your next gravel race.

2. For The Road Cyclist

The first bike that comes to mind is Factor Road Bikes. As Ryan puts it, they’re “a British bike brand that’s pushing the boundaries of performance through innovative design and geometry.“

An example of a Factor bike pushing boundaries is the Factor ONE. Despite the jarringly wide fork, the max tyre clearance is 34mm measured. It comes with a set of Black Inc Sixty Two wheels. It includes integrated aero bottle cages and a cycling computer mount.

You can choose a complete bike with different components depending on your budget and preference, like a Shimano Ultegra or Dura-Ace groupset, or a SRAM Force or Red groupset with a power meter, or even the Campagnolo Super Record 2×13 groupset. Of course, all wireless.

Factor bikes pride themselves on being aerodynamic, stiff, and fast. From road bikes, TT bikes, gravel bikes, mountain bikes, and even track bikes, they’re a premium bike brand that can be used by everyone, from first-time cyclists to the best riders in the world!

3. For The All-Rounder Cyclist

The Silverback SIABLO CF GRX: a smooth, slick, and sexy carbon bike suitable for absolutely anyone.

The frame can be run as either a 1x or a 2x. In the 1x setup, it is compatible with an internally routed dropper post for easy mounting/dismounting and to give you more control on steep or technical descents. It comes stock with a 1×12 Shimano GRX groupset, which sports a 40t chainring and a 10x51t cassette.

It has hydraulic disc brakes, a lightweight full-carbon frame with internal cable routing, and Maxxis Rambler 700C x 40C Tubeless Ready tyres on some SURFACE Alloy 30mm deep rims.

There is clearance for up to 50mm or 2.0″ tyres.

Whether you’re lining up for a race, joining a local group ride, or riding down to the beach on holiday to meet some friends, the Silverback SIABLO CF GRX can do it all.

Pay Like a Pro, Ride Like a Pro

Ryan’s a pro for a reason. With years of experience riding and racing some of the best bikes in the world, his picks are built on performance, reliability, and real-world riding.
